WOMEN'S LACROSSE DROPS 16-6 DECISION AT JOHNS HOPKINS

    The women's lacrosse team saw its two-game winning streak come to an end, as Johns Hopkins (7-2) defeated the Retrievers, 16-6, at Homewood Field. UMBC falls to 2-5 on the season.

    UMBC would score first as junior attacker Kate Worthington tallied in the second minute of play. But the Blue Jays scored the next six goals until Jocena Venditti halted the run with a goal in the 19th minute. JHU led, 7-2, at intermission and the Retrievers were unable to string consecutive goals together all evening to mount a comeback.

    Junior Kelly Fiorani led UMBC with 2 goals, while sophomore midfielder Kelly Fahey posted a goal and an assist. Sophomore netminder Kristina Raab made 9 saves in the UMBC cage.
