2007: Named to America East All-Rookie Team… Played in all 17 games for the Retrievers, starting 16… Scored eight goals and recorded three assists for 11 points on the season… Ranked second on the team with 25 ground balls and 15 caused turnovers and fourth with 22 draw controls… Made three of six free-position shots… Posted her first career goal and assist in the season opener against Howard… Also won a career-high four draw controls against the Bison… Scored a career-high two goals against Bucknell while picking up three ground balls, corralling three draw controls and causing three turnovers… Only other multi-point game came against Binghamton with a goal and an assist.

Background: An Academic All-American and an honorable mention All-American… Named her team’s best defensive player… Selected to the all-county first team and all-conference second team… Led Century to four straight county, conference and regional titles, four straight state finals appearances and the state championship in 2004 and 2006… The Knights only lost four games in her four years and were 19-0 her senior season… Served as team co-captain as a senior… Also lettered in track and field hockey at Century… Won the county title in the 1600-meter race and 800-meter relay… A first-team all-county and all-conference field hockey selection… Chose UMBC over Hofstra and Towson because of the coaches and family atmosphere on the team… Daughter of Leslie and Michael Burgoyne… Has an older sister, Jenny, and a younger brother, Michael… Born July 30, 1988… A biology and pre-med major who hopes to become an abdominal surgeon.
