Tara Singleton joins the Retrievers after five years at perennial powerhouse
As a member of the Loyola defense, Singleton earned Second-Team All-America honors and was a Tewaaraton Trophy nominee. She led the Greyhounds to four consecutive NCAA Tournament appearances, the 2001 and 2003 Final Fours and the Colonial Athletic Association Championship in 2002. She was also named both team captain and team MVP as a senior in 2004.
A two-year starter, Singleton was part of a defensive unit that was ranked No. 1 in the country in 2003 and finished ninth in 2004. She recorded 89 caused turnovers and 83 groundballs throughout her career, and she ranked among the nation’s leaders in caused turnovers in 2004.
Singleton has been a member of the U.S. National Team since 2003 and is a World Cup team candidate. She has served as a counselor at Loyola Lacrosse Camps for the past five summers, and she served as head coach of the North Baltimore County Lacrosse Team for two summers.
