BALTIMORE, Md. – Senior guard Michelle Kurowski (Hicksville, N.Y./Hicksville) of the women’s basketball team was named UMBC’s Athlete of the Month for February 2012 in a poll conducted from Mar. 1-9.  Kurowski received 46% of the vote, to win the vote over swimming and diving’s Andrew Eckhoff (Chelmsford, Mass./Chelmsford) and Abbey McKenney (Wilmington, Del./Brandywine), track and field’s Amanda Deller (Aberdeen, Md./Aberdeen) and men’s basketball’s Chase Plummer (Plainfield, N.J./St. Patrick’s).
