JESSIE BROWN HANDS OUT 400TH CAREER ASSIST; NETS 900TH POINT; NAMED TO ALL-TOURNAMENT TEAM

UMBC senior guard Jessie Brown (James M. Bennett) had quite a weekend at the St. Joseph’s (PA) Tournament Dec. 28-29, where she was named to the All-Tournament Team.
Brown recorded her 400th career assist in the opening game overtime loss to St. Joseph’s (PA). Brown became just the fourth Retriever to record 400 career helpers. She also added 16 points in the contest. Brown scored 12 points and grabbed a season-high 8 rebounds in the consolation game against Hartford and now has exactly 900 points for her career. She is fourth on UMBC’s all-time assist list and 13th on the all-time scoring list.
For the season, Brown is averaging 13.0 points, 3.8 assists, and 4.4 rebounds per game.
