Brown Snags Second America East Player of the Week Award

Brown led the Retrievers to two crucial wins last week, vaulting UMBC into first place in the America East standings. She averaged a league-best 20.0 points per game, in addition to 7.0 rebounds and 3.0 triples per contest, and she shot 44.8 percent from the floor (13-for-29), 46.2 percent from 3-point range (6-for-13) and a league-best 8-for-8 from the foul line. She played all 80 minutes and was named America East Player of the Game in both contests.

Brown is averaging 18.3 points per game over the last eight contests, and she ranks fifth in the America East with 14.1 ppg this season. She has also proven to be one of the best free throw shooters in the league, ranking third at an .879 clip, and she has made 24 straight foul shots in the final minute of UMBC’s last six wins.
