Kurowski Snags Second America East Women’s Basketball Player of the Week Award, First ECAC Honor
Michelle Kurowski averaged 29.0 ppg and shot 67.6 percent int two games last week.
In addition, she earned the same honor from the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) on Tuesday.
Kurowski was outstanding in a pair of America East wins last week, averaging 29.0 points, 4.0 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 2.0 steals per game while shooting 67.6 percent from the floor (23-for-34) and 50.0 percent from long distance (5-for-10), and she was a perfect 7-for-7 from the foul line.

The 30 points also matched her career high, which she set on Dec. 5, 2008. She is the fourth player in school history to score 30 points more than once in her career.

With 30 points and 28 points, she was responsible for the top two offensive performances in the conference last week.
Kurowski, who leads the America East with 16.2 points per game this season, is averaging 22.8 ppg in four league contests and has been named America East Player of the Game in all four. She now ranks 10th all-time at UMBC with 1,072 career points.
Kurowski last earned the award on Nov. 29 for the third week of the season. Her four America East Player of the Week awards match former teammate Carlee Cassidy for the most ever by a Retriever in UMBC’s eight seasons in the conference.
