Retrievers Fall to Binghamton, 70-36

VESTAL, N.Y.—The UMBC women’s basketball team (10-14, 4-7 AE) dropped a 70-36 decision at America East rival Binghamton (9-15, 5-6 AE) Wednesday evening at the Events Center.
The Bearcats made their first six field goals, jumping out to a 16-4 lead after just five minutes of play. A 3-pointer by UMBC sophomore guard Michelle Kurowski (Hicksville, N.Y./Hicksville) at the 14:55 mark made it 16-7, but the Retrievers were held without a field goal for the next 13:16, as Binghamton used a 19-2 run to break the game open and led, 38-18, at halftime.
