Road Woes Continue for Retrievers in 78-62 Loss to Stony Brook

STONY BROOK, N.Y.—The UMBC women’s basketball team (12-9, 4-4 AEC) dropped its seventh straight road game Saturday afternoon, falling to America East rival Stony Brook (4-15, 2-5 AEC) by a score of 78-62 at Pritchard Gymnasium.

Brown scored 17 points on 7-of-10 shooting and was named UMBC’s America East Player of the Game. Cassidy was the only other Retriever in double figures, as she tallied a team-best 20 points. Sophomore forward Meghan Colabella (
Stony Brook forward Kirsten Jeter earned her team’s America East Player of the Game honors after scoring a game-high 24 points and adding seven rebounds and six steals. Guard Misha Horsey tallied 14 points to go along with seven helpers, while Crystal Rushin posted 11 rebounds.
