Women’s Basketball Falls at Hartford, 67-39

WEST HARTFORD,
Junior guard Chantay Frazier scored the Retrievers’ first seven points, and UMBC was down just three, 10-7, at the 12:24 mark before the Hawks used a 15-0 run over the next four minutes to break the game open.
The Retrievers’ 14 points and six field goals in the first half were both season lows. The Hawks shot 51.7 percent in the period while UMBC shot just 31.6 percent. The Retrievers turned the ball over 15 times, resulting in 19
The Hawks scored the first 13 points of the second half to take a game-high 36-point lead, 50-14, at the 15:40 mark. UMBC finished the game on an 11-4 run sparked by nine points by Barker.
Frazier was the only other Retriever in double figures, as she scored 12 points. Freshman forward Meghan Colabella posted a career-high 10 rebounds.
Danielle Hood led the Hawks with 13 points, while Courtney Gomez scored 12 points on four 3-pointers. Diana Delva also tallied 12 points on 6-of-7 shooting and added three blocks. Erica Beverly led all players with 12 rebounds.
