Women’s Basketball Falls to Richmond, 64-51, on First Day of Terrapin Classic; Retrievers Face No. 5 Maryland Sunday

The Retrievers, who shot 47.8 percent in the first half, made 10 of their first 15 field goal attempts but just one of eight during the final 7:39 of the period.
The Spiders pulled down 20 rebounds in the first 20 minutes, including 11 on the offensive end of the floor, accounting for 11 second-chance points.

The Retrievers put together a 14-5 run to trim the deficit to 10 points, 57-47, with 2:01 left in the game, but they could not complete the comeback.
Cassidy led the Retrievers with 21 points, while senior guard Morgan Hatten contributed 12 points to go along with seven rebounds. Freshman forward Meghan Colabella also grabbed a career-high seven boards.
The Retrievers return to action Sunday, Dec. 30, when they take on No. 5 Maryland on the final day of the Terrapin Classic.
