    BROWN'S "DOUBLE-DOUBLE" LIFTS UMBC OVER ROBERT MORRIS, 68-49Baltimore, MD - -- UMBC junior guard Jessie Brown recorded a "double-double" with a game-high 20 points and 11 assists to lead the Retrievers to a 68-49 victory over Robert Morris, Thursday evening at the UMBC RAC Arena.Brown, who finished three rebounds shy of achieving the first "triple-double" in the program's history, connected on 7-of-11 from the floor and added three blocks and three steals.UMBC (8-11, 4-6 NEC), never trailed in the contest and jumped out to a 25-8 advantage with 6:58 remaining in the opening half. The Retrievers held the Colonials (1-16, 1-9 NEC) scoreless for 8:04 during the run. UMBC settled for a 34-16 halftime advantage as Brown had 10 points and 9 assists at the break.The Retrievers extended their lead to 23 points at 43-20 as freshman guard Christine Catalanotto converted a lay-up with 15:46 remaining. The Colonials made one final run as they outscored the Retrievers 19-3 over the next 7:25 to close the gap to just seven points at 46-39. However, UMBC responded with an 11-0 spurt to regain a commanding 57-39 advantage with just 5:23 left in the contest.UMBC, who has defeated Robert Morris four straight times, held the Colonials to just 27 percent shooting (15-for-55). The Retrievers shot 49 percent (26-for-53) from the floor and were 6-for-13 (46 percent) from three-point range.Senior forward Yinka Bada added 13 points for the Retrievers and Catalanotto added 11. Guards Missy Spangler and Dena DeIuliis each scored 11 points for the Colonials.
