	Brenna Rollie
	Position: Assistant Coach, First Season Alma Mater: Minnesota State-Moorhead '05

Brenna Rollie joined the Retriever staff as an assistant coach in May 2011.

Rollie comes to UMBC after spending the last two seasons as an assistant coach at Bucknell, where she assisted in all aspects of on-floor player development, working primarily with the backcourt. She also served as the teams’ academic monitor, overseeing a squad that ranked 14th in NCAA Division I with a 3.422 team grade-point average and boasted two players on the CoSIDA/ESPN the Magazine Academic All-District First Team. In addition, Rollie coordinated the Bison’s community service projects and was involved in recruiting and game-planning.

“I want to thank Coach Stern and UMBC for the opportunity to be a part of the women’s basketball program,” Rollie said.

Prior to Bucknell, Rollie spent two years as the director of basketball operations at Wisconsin-Milwaukee, where she was charged with coordinating travel, special events and the team’s FastBreak Club and Kids’ Club. She also coordinated the Panthers’ community outreach efforts, leading the program to the Horizon League’s Community Service Award in each of her two seasons with the university.

A Minnesota native, Rollie served as a graduate assistant coach at Bemidji State University from 2005-07. Among her many responsibilities with the Beavers, Rollie aided with player development, scouting and recruiting. She also helped the team improve its record each year.

Rollie was the starting shooting guard at Augustana College in Sioux Falls, S.D., from 2000-03. She ranked among the North Central Conference’s top 10 in assists per game and assist-to-turnover ratio as a junior, when the team captain averaged 8.7 points and 3.4 assists. Rollie completed her college career at Minnesota State-Moorhead, where she received the Dragons’ Sixth Player Award after shifting to point guard.

While completing her student-teaching obligations in 2004-05, Rollie also served as an assistant coach at her high school alma mater, Rothsay High School, where she holds the school’s all-time records for scoring, rebounding and assists.

“We’re fortunate to add someone with Brenna’s experience to our staff,” Stern said. “She has been involved in all aspects of coaching over the past six years, and I’m excited about the impact that she will have on our student-athletes.”

Rollie graduated from Minnesota State-Moorhead in 2005 with a bachelor’s degree in physical education and teaching and a minor in coaching, and she earned her master’s in sports studies from Bemidji State in 2007.
