AS A SOPHOMORE (2009-10): The only Retriever to start all 30 games on the season… Led UMBC with 40 blocks, tied for the fourth-highest single-season total in school history and the third-most ever by a Retriever sophomore… Also led the team with a .447 shooting percentage (84-for-188) and ranked fourth in scoring (7.5 ppg)… Ranked fifth in the America East with 1.3 blocks per game… After averaging just 4.9 ppg and posting just eight blocks in 14 non-conference games, broke out during America East play, scoring 9.8 ppg, shooting 47.3 percent (53-for-112) and blocking 32 shots in 16 league contests… Ranked third on the team in scoring during conference action… Led the America East in blocks (2.0 bpg) and ranked sixth in field goal percentage, ninth in free throw percentage (.750), 11th in offensive rebounds (2.1 rpg) and 17th in scoring in league games… Scored 11 points and added five rebounds against UMES (Nov. 15)… Posted her second career double-double with 12 points and 14 rebounds against Navy, tying the single-game best for rebounds by a Retriever on the season (Dec. 2)… Scored eight points on 4-of-9 shooting at Loyola (Dec. 20)… Scored 12 points and added five boards in 33 minutes against Hartford (Jan. 6)… Was a perfect 6-for-6 at the foul line against the Hawks after making just six of her first 20 free throws on the season… Scored 15 points and added nine rebounds and two blocks to earn America East Player of the Game honors at Albany (Jan. 13)… Made 12 straight free throws and 20 of 21 to open conference play… Scored a career-high 18 points on 8-of-11 shooting and added six rebounds and a career-high four rejections against New Hampshire (Jan. 16)… Scored 15 points on 6-of-9 shooting at Boston University despite missing the majority of the first half with two fouls (Jan. 24)… Matched her career high with four blocks and added nine points and seven boards against Stony Brook (Jan. 28)… Named America East Player of the Game with 16 points on 6-of-9 shooting and 4-of-4 at the foul line and three blocks against Maine (Feb. 7)… Averaged 12.8 ppg and shot 54.1 percent (40-for-74) in eight games from Jan. 13-Feb. 7… Named America East Player of the Game with a team-high 11 points at Binghamton (Feb. 10)… Named the team’s Most Improved Player at UMBC’s varsity awards banquet… Recognized on the America East Honor Roll.

AS A FRESHMAN (2008-09): Saw action in 27 games and made four starts, including three in a row from Jan. 17-24… Led the Retrievers with 24 blocks, the third-most ever by a Retriever freshman… Ranked sixth in the America East with 0.9 blocks per game… Sank her only field goal attempt for two points and added two rebounds and two assists in 13 minutes in her collegiate debut at George Washington (Nov. 15)… Posted the first two blocks of her career against George Mason (Nov. 19)… Scored five points and grabbed nine rebounds against Northern Illinois (Nov. 21)… Blocked two shots and grabbed six rebounds against Navy (Dec. 3)… Blocked a career-best three shots against Towson (Dec. 6)… Posted her first career double-double with career highs of 15 points and 11 rebounds to go along with three blocks in a career-high 27 minutes against New Hampshire (Jan. 10)… Named America East Player of the Game against the Wildcats… Made her first career start against Maine (Jan. 17) and posted a career-high four steals… Matched her career high with three blocks against Albany (Jan. 21)… Averaged 8.6 points and 5.8 rebounds and shot 44.1 percent (15-for-34) during the first five games of America East Conference action (Jan. 7-21)… Posted 10 blocks in six games from Jan. 10-28… Led the Retrievers in rebounding four times.

HIGH SCHOOL: A three-year starter and two-time WCAC All-Conference Honorable Mention at Archbishop Carroll High School in Washington, D.C.… Averaged a double-double as a senior with 13 points and 11 rebounds per game… Led the league with 1.6 blocked shots per game in 2008… Nominated for the regional McDonald’s Senior All-Star Game… Posted a triple-double in a game during her senior season with 13 points, 11 rebounds and 12 blocks… Also played for the nationally ranked Fairfax Stars… A four-year Honor Roll student.

PERSONAL: The oldest of two children to Zainab Abu and Olubanwo Ademola… Has a younger brother, Tobi… Chose UMBC over Radford, North Carolina Central, Bowie State and American… Born June 1, 1990… A biology major who hopes to become an obstetrician/gynecologist.
