UMBC’s all-time “iron woman” and a two-time America East all-conference selection, Sharri Rohde enters her second season as an assistant coach at her alma mater.

Just the third player in school history to score 1,000 points and record 500 rebounds and 300 assists in her career, Rohde ranks among UMBC’s all-time leaders in almost every category, including points (7th, 1,225), field goals (7th, 458), field goal percentage (3rd, .475), free throws (7th, 243), free throw percentage (10th, .711), assists (6th, 336), blocks (6th, 86), steals (12th, 152) and rebounds (12th, 631).

Rohde is also the school’s all-time record-holder for games played (117), games started (117) and minutes played (3,970), as she never missed a start in her four-year career.

A three-time team co-captain, Rohde led the Retrievers to their first-ever America East title and NCAA Tournament berth in 2007, and she was named to the America East All-Championship Team after averaging 12.3 ppg, 6.3 rpg and 3.0 apg in three contests.

Rohde was selected to the America East All-Conference Second Team in 2006 and 2007 and was an All-Defensive Team pick as a senior, as well.
After an outstanding junior year, when she shot at a .543 clip, the third-best single-season field-goal percentage in school history, Rohde concluded her career in superb fashion, averaging 13.4 points, 6.5 rebounds, 2.9 assists and 1.5 steals as a senior. Her 442 points are the eighth-most ever scored by a Retriever in a single season, and she played in a school-record 1,168 minutes. She also was the only player to rank in the top 10 in the America East in scoring, rebounding and assists, in addition to blocks and steals.

A native of Indianapolis, Rohde averaged 13.0 points, 7.0 rebounds and 1.5 blocks per game as a senior at Franklin Central High School, where she was a two-time all-county and all-conference selection.

Rohde graduated from UMBC in May 2007 with a bachelor’s degree in psychology.
