2008 Cross Country: Earned All-Conference honors after finishing eighth at the America East Championships in 25:59.5… Scored in the top-two for the Retrievers in every meet, with two first-place team finishes… Ran a season-best 24:54.00 at the Princeton Invitational where he placed 26th… Finished second at the Towson Invitational… Helped the Retrievers win the Mount St. Mary’s 5K Duals with a sixth-place finish.

 

2008 Outdoor: Finished seventh in the 5000-meter run at the America East Championships… Was part of the eighth-place 4 x 1500m team at the Colonial Relays… Placed 12th in the 3000-meter run at the Bucknell Team Challenge.

 

2007 Cross Country: Saw action in only four of the Retrievers’ six meets, but crossed the line as the top Retriever in the final meet of the year, the NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regionals… Finished the 10K course in a career-best 31:23 for 41st place… Just missed the top 10 at the America East Championship, finishing 11th in 26:38.30 for the 8124-meter course… Also competed in the Mount St. Mary’s Dual 5K’s to start the season, where he was fourth across the line in 17:02.04, and was fourth across at the Navy Invite in 25:37.50 for the 8K, good for 31st place.

 

2007-08 Indoor: Finished third in the 3000-meter run at the Gulden Relays.

2007 Outdoor: Set new UMBC records in the 1500-meter run (3:49.20) and 5000m run (14:09.20) at the Bucknell Outdoor Classic and Penn Relays, respectively… Also became the fifth-ever representative from UMBC to compete in the NCAA Regional meet, which he qualified for in the 5000 after finishing 12th in the Penn Relays… Finished 18th in the 1500 at the IC4A Championships.

2006-07 Indoor: Became the seventh Retriever ever to claim an IC4A Championship title as he won the one-mile run in a time of 4:11.08… Also finished fourth in the same event at the America East Championships, and finished third in the 3000-meter run and was part of the fourth-place distance medley relay… Ran a career-best time of 4:08.92 in the mile and season-best 8:32.54 in the 3000 at the conference meet, and a season-best time of 2:29.07 in the 1000 at the Rider/Lafayette Invite, where he finished third… Named to the America East Indoor Track and Field All-Academic Team.

2006 Cross Country: An All-Conference selection after finishing ninth at the America East Championships, running the 8K course in a personal-best time of 25:08.6… Was the top Retriever finisher in all but one meet, the Lehigh Paul Short Invitational, where he was fourth on the team… Started off the season with a fourth-place finish at the Mount St. Mary’s Dual 5K’s with a time of 16:18.4… Also broke into the top 100 at the NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional meet, where he shaved off 35 seconds to finish 91st with a personal best time of 32:56.7.

2006 Outdoor: Did not compete due to injury.

2005-06 Indoor: Finished second in the one-mile run and fifth in the 3000-meter run at the America East Championships… Part of the America East Championship and school record-setting distance medley relay (9:59.52)... Won the 3000 at the Rider/Lafayette Invite with a season-best time of 8:30.51… Also won the mile at the Bucknell Bison Open… Ran his season-best time of 4:11.27 in the mile at the conference championship meet.

2005 Cross Country: Saw action in only five of the Retrievers’ eight meets, but was part of UMBC’s scoring five that claimed the America East Conference title… Finished 13th in a season-best 26:37.20 on the 8K course, the fourth-best Retriever finish… Started off the season with a 13th-place finish at the Mount St. Mary’s Duals, where he finished the 5K course in 16:18.99… Also competed in the NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional meet, where he finished the 10K course in 33:31.80.

Background: A four-year letterwinner at Lenape High School in Medford, N.J....  Named to the 2001 Freshman All-State team and named All-South Jersey for three out of four years... Also garnered a Second-Team All-State selection during his senior year.

Personal: One of three children to Thomas and Anna Kelhower... Has two brothers, Tom (21) and Chris (20)... Majoring in information systems and hopes to one day own a running store... Born July 3, 1987.
