Voorman Leads Men's Tennis Past Howard, 5-2

, D.C.--Junior Fredi Voorman (Talinn, Estonia) won in straight sets at No. 2 singles and combined with senior Nick Savage-Pollock (Montreal, Que.) to cruise at No. 1 doubles as UMBC defeated host Howard, 5-2 on April 2.

Voorman defeated Howard’s Omar Haloui, 6-4, 6-3, as UMBC earned four singles points. He and Savage-Pollock defeated Michael Gee and Chris Brown at No. 1 doubles, 8-1. Junior Logan Bricker (Shenandoah, Va.) and sophomore John Dixon (Lemoyne, Pa.) defeated Haloui and Chad Jones, 8-2 to help UMBC capture the doubles point.

UMBC is off this weekend before competing at Delaware on April 7.
