WOMEN'S TENNIS DEFEATS GW; NOVOTNY'S WIN HIGHLIGHTS MEN'S SETBACK AT WEST VIRINIA

The women's tennis team evened its record at 3-3 with a 5-2 win at George Washington University on February 17. The Retrievers dropped the doubles point, but won five of six singles matches to post the victory. #5 Aimee Lim and #6 Kathryn Wheatley were double winners, teaming to win the #3 doubles matches and prevailing in singles as well. On the men's side, UMBC dropped a 5-2 decision at West Virginia on Saturday. However, #1 Joe Novotny kept his brilliant play going, defeating WVU's Adam Marchetti, 3-6,6-3,6-3. Marchetti was ranked #11 in the region and in the nation's top 40 this fall. #5 Luis Baraldi also took a three-set victory.
