Freshman Fernando Ferreira combined with senior James Tyler to win a key doubles point, then won the clinching singles match as UMBC (6-8) defeated Villanova, 4-3, on Thursday.
Ferreira and Tyler improved to 4-0 at #2 doubles with a 9-7 win over Sean Gallagher and Dimitri Chimerakus.
