2006-07: Led UMBC with eight singles wins (8-2) this fall… won all three singles matches at the Bucknell Quad.

2005-06: Won eight of 13 doubles matches last year, playing at #2 and #3 doubles with four different partners… captured 12 singles matches in the Nos. 4, 5, and 6 slots to win a total of 20 times last season…combined with Djan Gusmao to win the Men’s “D” Doubles flight with a 9-8 (4) win over James/Jones of Navy at the Hampton Roads Collegiate Tennis Invitational in Newport News, Virginia.

2004-05: An excellent utility player, who posted a 3-3 mark in doubles and a 3-5 singles record in the spring.

2004: Posted a perfect 4-0 mark with Mikhail Kouznetsov at #3 doubles...was 8-4 overall in doubles last spring...was 8-9 in singles competition in his first season.

 

Background: Outstanding local product who was ranked #3 in the state of Maryland in 2002 and #234 in the USTA national rankings…as an unseeded player, he won five matches to capture the 2002 Maryland State Junior Outdoor Championships in Boys’ 18 Singles…also won the 2003 MCTA Banana Open singles title…a member of Team Maryland in 1998 and 2000…was named to Montgomery Gazette Boys Team in 2001-03…led his Springbrook HS team to the 2003 Division II championship…selected UMBC over such programs as Maryland, Penn State and American because of “nice environment and people, a good-sized campus for me, a good tennis coach and a very good friend of mine goes to UMBC”…is considering a major in Political Science and would like to enter the field of law…patterns his game after Andre Agassi…a fan of The Simpsons television show…son of Lina Pizarro and Arde Iranshad…born July 25, 1985.
