2006-07:  Produced marks of 5-4 in singles and 6-4 in doubles this fall… teamed with David Jackson to reach the doubles finals at the Hampton Woods Invitational.

2005-06: Came on strong down the stretch, winning his final five singles matches… was the lone Retriever to win a pair of singles matches at the America East Championships… was 7-1 at No. 4 singles last spring… won a total of 24 matches throughout the year, the second-highest figure on the team... named the team’s “Unsung Hero.”

2004-05: Led the team last year with 28 total victories…won ten of his last 12 matches and posted a 14-7 record, primarily at #2 singles in the spring…named Second Team All America East Conference.

Background: Produced many outstanding results in Ontario as a junior player…made Team Ontario earlier this year…was a quarter-finalist in the 2004 U18 Canadian national doubles tournament and was ranked #9 in Boys's U18 doubles…reached the semi-finals of the Ontario Junior Championships in doubles in 2004 and also placed sixth in singles…was the Ontario High School singles champion this past spring…considered schools such as Rutgers and Duquesne, but chose UMBC "because of its high regard for academics and I liked the players on the team"…older brothers, Jamil, 26, competed in track & field at Harvard, and Adil, 22, a tennis standout at Brown University…is interested in a career in the business field…likes to be called "Irf" or "Irfy"…son of Rozmina and Kamru Shamasdin…born September 16, 1986.
