2006-07: Defeated players from George Washington, Drexel and James Madison in straight sets at the Hampton Woods Invitational… was 10-6 overall.
2005-06: Named the team’s Most Valuable Player…reached the 30-win plateau (the most on the team) with 16 singles victories (16-10) and 14 doubles wins (14-11)… played 14 of 21 spring singles matches at the #2 position and posted a 7-7 record at that prominent position… teamed with James Tyler to win the “B” Flight Doubles with an 8-5 victory over Ditman/Levine of Delaware in the fall.
Background: Another player with excellent size and athletic ability to join the Retrievers…competed in Canadian Under-18 Indoor and Outdoor Nationals in 2005 and placed in the top 16 in the outdoor competition…considered several U.S. and Canadian schools, but selected UMBC because of its “nice location, good engineering program, great tennis team, and nice campus”…is considering a major in Engineering…an honors student at St. Thomas HS…a fan of the NHL’s Ottawa Senators and the band The White Stripes…mother, Monica Savage, competed nationally in the modern pentathalon, and father, Jeff Pollack, played baseball, ice hockey, and baskeball in high school…has brother, Jason, 16, and sister, Charlotte,14…born November 10, 1987.
