Combined with freshman Nick Savage-Pollock to win the “B” Flight Doubles with an 8-5 victory over Ditman/Levine of
2004-05: Competed at the #1 singles position for UMBC…played at #2 doubles with Fernando Ferreira for most of the spring and were 9-9 in that part of the campaign.
2004: Moved into the #2 singles position and netted a record of 8-11...played with five different partners in doubles competition and ended the campaign with a mark of 13-9...ready to assume control of the #1 slot in his junior season...earned All America East honors last spring.
2003: Produced a solid freshman season, going 11-8 at #3 singles...finished the year on a five-match win streak, capturing two three-set matches and a three-set tie breaker in that span...earned All NEC honors in #3 singles and #2 doubles, where he teamed with veteran Mikhail Kouznetsov.
Background: Earned Ohio All State honors, and was named to All Conference and All Academic teams…defeated a nationally-ranked top ten player at the 2001 Midwest Designated Tournament, 6-4, 6-3…led the Aviators to a third place finish the state championships…considered Navy, Marquette, and UNC Charlotte, but selected UMBC because "after my official visit, I loved the location, coach, and teammates, and it is a strong school academically"…is interested in a career in business…is an accomplished percussionist…a fan of musical artist Eric Clapton…majoring in Interdisciplinary Studies...son of Alison and Chris Tyler…born April 3, 1984.
