2004-05: Posted 23 wins on the season, including a 11-8 spring mark in the middle of the UMBC lineup…was also 8-4 in doubles competition in the spring...named Second Team All America East Conference.

Background: An excellent athlete who has a very bright future with the Retrievers…split his time between soccer and tennis in Brazil until age 14, when countryman Gustavo Kuerten's first French Open title pushed him towards tennis full-time…had been part of a Brazilian junior national soccer team which took third place in the USA Cup in Minnesota…somewhat atypical of a Brazilian player in that he is very aggressive at the net…was his country's age group doubles champion and earned a #1 ranking…was ranked #13 in that group in singles…was accepted at Brazil's most prestigious university, and considered several other strong Division I tennis programs, but chose UMBC "because I was looking for a strong school academically, a strong tennis program and because it is near a big city" (Baltimore)…considering a major in Financial Economics…enjoys surfing…has a sister Patricia, 22…considering a major in Economics...son of Myriam Nogueira de Sa and Roberto Ferreira…born February 14, 1985.
