MEN'S SWIMMING CONTINUES TO LEAD ECAC SWIMMING AFTER DAY TWO; WOMEN ARE THIRD

The UMBC men's swimming and diving team continues to lead the ECAC Swimming and Diving Championships held in Pittsburgh, PA this weekend. UMBC has amassed 384 points through two days, followed by Seton Hall (292.5), Marist (261), Towson (256.5) and Buffalo (181). The women are in third place, as they have totalled 215 points, behind Boston College (312) and New Hampshire (215). On the day, Jakub Sroczynski and Josh Farley each won events, as Sroczynski captured the 100 buttterfly (1:41.11) and Farley won the 400 I.M. (4:01.12). Freshman Geza Szabo placed third in the 100 butterfly (50.88) and 800 free relay team placed second (6:50.01). For the women, Astrid Sperling won the 100 backstroke in a school-record time of 57.00. Sophomore Lindsay Prather placed second in the 100 breaststroke (1:04.20) and the 200 medley relay team placed fifth, but set a school record at 1:48.09. The Championships conclude on Sunday.
