RETRIEVER SWIMMING SWEEPS ST. FRANCIS (NY); WOMEN WIN OVER SACRED HEART
Brooklyn, NY - The UMBC swimming and diving teams recorded a dual meet victory over St. Francis(NY) on Sunday, as the men triumphed, 72-32, and the women won, 55-38. The Sacred Heart women's swim team also participated in the meet, and fell to the Retrievers, 84-30. With the wins, the UMBC women are now 8-2, while the men, who have won six straight, improved to 6-2 on the season.
The Retriever men claimed ten of eleven first place spots, as eight different swimmers recorded the top times in the same number of events. The UMBC men also dominated in the 200 medley relay (1:39.72), and the 200 freestyle relay (1:26.94).
On the women's side, five different Retrievers notched first place in five individual events, in addition to winning the 200 medley relay (1:51.73) and the 200 freestyle relay (1:44.14).
