BALTIMORE—The UMBC men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams return to action this weekend when they travel to Annapolis, Md. to face Navy on Saturday, with the women starting at 12 p.m. and the men at 2 p.m. The women’s team then takes on New Hampshire at the UMBC Natatorium on Sunday at 2:30 p.m.

Last week, both teams defeated Rider 161-137. Senior Justin Bronson (Oshawa, Ontario, Canada/Msgr. Paul Dwyer) wow three events on the men’s side, including the 100, 200 and 500 free, on his way to being named the America East Male Swimmer of the Week.

On the women’s side, junior Tereza Kaplanova (Prague, Czech Republic/Gymnazium J.G. Jankovskeho) swept the 100 and 200 breaststroke events, while sophomore Rebecca Godwin (Catonsville, Md./Notre Dame Prep) swept the distance freestyle events.

The Retrievers look to avenge last year’s results, when the men lost to Navy 137-101, while the women fell to Navy, 123-119, and New Hampshire 156-142.
