Tina Cantwell finaled in two events at the Spring Championships.

Justin Bronson placed 21st in the 200-meter freestyle.

East Meadow, N.Y.-UMBC sophomore swimmers Tina Cantwell and Justin Bronson competed at the USA Swimming Spring Championships March 27-31 at the Nassau County Aquatic Center in East Meadow, N.Y., and Cantwell took home 10th place in the 200-meter breaststroke.

The 2007 America East champion in the 100- and 200-yard breaststroke events, Cantwell finished second in the B final and 10th overall in the 200-meter breast in 2:36.94, shaving more than two seconds off her preliminary time of 2:39.03. Cantwell also placed sixth in the 100-meter breaststroke C final and 22nd overall in 1:13.89. She entered the meet seeded 32nd in the 200-breast and 41st in the 100-breast. She also competed in the 200-IM and finished 84th in 2:29.81.

Bronson, the 2007 America East champion in the 100-yard freestyle, placed fifth in the C final and 21st overall in the 200-meter freestyle, finishing in 1:54.85. He entered the meet seeded 41st in the event. Bronson also came in 40th in the 100-meter free (53.61), 43rd in the 100-meter butterfly (58.24) and 53rd in the 400-meter free (4:09.84).
