Roseberry, Salgado Named ECAC Performers of the Week
Jeff Salgado (above) and Evan Roseberrry (below) earned both America East and ECAC Performer of the Week accolades.
Roseberry, who was also named America East Menís Swimmer of the Week, won three events and broke a pool record in UMBC's 137-75 victory at Bucknell on Dec. 3. The sophomore took first in the 500-free (4:40.08), the 1,000-free (9:31.66), and the 200-fly (1:54.99). Roseberryís time in the 1,000-free broke the Kinney Natatorium record and is also UMBC's fastest of the season. He has won 10 events on the season.
The America East Menís Diver of the Week, Salgado swept the diving events in UMBC's victory. The senior scored 280.65 on the one-meter board and 246.75 in the three-meter competition. Salgado has won both diving events at four meets this season and has nine victories on the year.
The ECAC accolades are the first of the conferenceís first weekly awards of the season. Each week the ECAC will honor a male and female swimmer and diver of the week from each division of the NCAA.
