UMBC Swimming and Diving Notebook: Retrievers Announce Captains, Kick-Off Dinner

10/3/2006

Brian Jaeggi was voted team co-captain for the third straight year.

Lisa Robinson was named team captain co-captain for a second year.

Baltimore-Senior Brian Jaeggi was voted a team co-captain for the third straight year, UMBC head swim coach Chad Cradock announced recently. Joining Jaeggi as men’s captains for the 2006-07 season are seniors Ryan Karrer and Juan Ortiz. On the women’s side, juniors Rachel Lesslie and Lisa Robinson will take on the responsibility of co-captains for a second year and will be joined by senior Agnes Stanislawska.

“The captains are a good representation of the teams,” Cradock said. “This year, for the first time, the coaches voted as well, so the captains are also a reflection of the coaches.”

The UMBC men have won the conference title all three seasons since joining the America East, while the women placed second in 2006, just 50 points behind New Hampshire.
