SWIMMING & DIVING LEADING NEC FIELD AFTER DAY ONE

Baltimore, MD - - -The host UMBC Retrievers lead the field with 271points after day one of the 2002 Northeast Conference women's swimming &diving championships. UMBC's men's squad is also leading theInvitational Meet with 318 pts.Seven NEC meet records were established this evening at the UMBCNatatorium. Central Connecticut State broke the women's 200 Free Relaymark with a time of 1:38.61 while UMBC's men established a new recordtime of 1:25.21 in the same event. The Retrievers' women's 400 medleyrelay team also established a new standard with a time of 3:56.51.Central Connecticut State junior Tammie Repass broke her own record inthe 500 Free, finishing first in 4:53.55. UMBC Freshman LindseyPrather established a new mark in the 200 IM with a time of 2:07.16 andCentral Connecticut State senior Olga Budasz surpassed her own mark towin the 50 Free in 23.68.
