MEN'S SWIMMING SWEEPS ECU AND GW; WOMEN SPLIT

Baltimore, MD-The UMBC men's swimming and diving team swept a tri-meet with East Carolina and George Washington today while the Retriever women lost to ECU and beat GW at the UMBC Natatorium. The men's squad moved their record to 8-1 overall while the women's record moved to 6-4.The UMBC men slipped past a tough ECU team, 126-116 while they dominated GW, 157-63. On the women's side, the Retrievers fell to the Pirates, 146-96 while beating the Colonials, 149-93. Sophomores Kat Harrsen (200 free), Holly Wittsack (200 fly) and Astrid Sperling (200 back) each won an event as did freshmen Lindsey Prather (200 breast) and Jessica Prosen (1000 free). For the men, senior Mehdi Addadi captured three events (50 free, 200 fly, 200 back) while senior Evan Patrick (100 free, 200 free) and sophomore Josh Farley (500 free, 200 IM) each won two events to pace the Retrievers.
