UMBC SWIMMING & DIVING GARNERS THREE OF FOUR WEEKLY AWARDS

UMBC's Jeff Salgado (Glen Rock, Pa./South Western/St. Bonaventure) was named Men's Diving Performer of the Week, while the Retrievers swept the women's awards as Agnes Stanislawska (Zielona Gora, Poland/Lo VI) picked up her second consecutive Women's Swimming Performer of the Week honor, and Katie Spohnholz (Anchorage, Alaska/Robert Service) was named the Women's Diving Performer of the Week. The awards were announced Tuesday, February 8.
In last Saturday's win over Johns Hopkins, Salgado claimed first-place in the one-meter diving event with a score of 244.35, and in the three-meter diving event with a score of 297.75. His marks in in the three-meter set a new school record.
In the same meet, Stanislawska placed first in the 200-yard freestyle (1:54.25) and the 100-yard breaststroke (1:06.17). She was also a part of the 400-medley relay team that finished in 4:00.88, topping second place by nearly nine seconds.
Finally, Spohnholz's score of 270.60 in the three-meter diving competition against
Johns Hopkins set a new school record.
