UMBC ANNOUNCES HIRING OF ANDREW HASTINGS AS DIVING COACH

UMBC announced the hiring of Andrew Hastings as Diving Coach for the Retrievers' Swimming and Diving Program. Previously, Hastings spent a season as the head diving coach of Hamilton College, and another as the assistant diving coach of Amherst College and UMASS Amherst. Over his career, he has coached two All-Americans and two New England Small College Athletic Conference champions. In addition, he was named NESCAC men’s diving coach of the year in 2004.

 

Hastings graduated from Bates College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Philosophy in 2002. At Bates, he was a school-record seven-time All-American. He was accepted into the Lewiston-Auburn Sports Hall of Fame in 2002 and was awarded a Senior Citation by Bates for excellence in athletics. 

 

Before attending Bates, Hastings was a High School All-American at Weston High in Massachusetts.
