MEN'S SWIMMING & DIVING CAPTURES UMBC'S FIRST AMERICA EAST CONFERENCE CROWN; WOMEN PLACE A SOLID SECOND

Orono, ME--The UMBC men's swimming and diving team easily captured the 2004 America East Championships, amassing a meet record 901 points to second-place Binghamton's 574. UMBC senior Brad Green was named Swimmer of the Year as he captured the 50 freestyle, 100 backstroke and 100 freestyle events, the latter in a meet record time of 44.82. The women placed second overall, with 606.5 points, behind first-place and five-time defending champion Northeastern (765). Retriever freshman Agnes Stanislawska was named Swimmer of the Year on the women's side, as she won the 100 and 200 freestyle events.
