Former UMBC diver Jon Gdowik returns to the Retrievers for his second season after serving as a coach for the Retriever Diving Club, as well as the Padonia Park and West Howard diving clubs.
Gdowik, a member of the UMBC swimming and diving team from 2000-04, competed in the 1- and 3-meter diving events, placing second in both at the 2004 America East Swimming and Diving Championships. Gdowik also set school records on both boards during his senior season, in addition to qualifying for the NCAA Zone Diving Championships.
The West Chester, Pa., native graduated from UMBC in 2005 with a bachelor’s degree in geography, as well as a minor in sociology and a certificate in cartography. Gdowik resides in Baltimore, Md.
