2007-08: Part of the school, America East Championship, and University of Maine Wallace Pool record-setting 800-yard freestyle relay (6:42.44) and the 400 free relay (3:04.78)… Also set a new school and University of Maine Wallace Pool record as he claimed gold in the 200 free (1:38.65) at the America East Championships… Grabbed gold in the 100 free, took silver in the 500 free, and bronze as part of the 400 medley relay at the same meet… Won the 200 free and was part of the winning 400 and 800 free relays at the Patriot Invitational… Also finished second in the 100 butterfly and as part of the 200 free and 400 medley relays, was third in the 500 free, and seventh in the 100 free at the same meet… Undefeated in dual meets and the conference meet in the 200 free and won the 100 free and 500 free at four meets each during the season… Also won the 1000 free and 100 fly at one meet each and was part of the winning 400 free relay four times and 200 medley once… Held UMBC’s fastest times in the 100 free (46.02), 200 free (1:38.65) and 500 free (4:32.29) with the 200 free being a career-best time… Was named the America East Swimmer of the Week for the weeks ending Oct. 22 and Nov. 5…. Competed in the 2008 Canadian National Swimming Trials.

 

2006-07: Part of the school, America East Championship, and Boston University pool record-setting 800-yard freestyle relay (6:44.18)… Also took gold in the 100 freestyle at the America East Championships and silver in the 500 freestyle, 100 butterfly, and as part of the 400 medley and freestyle relays… Part of the Patriot Invitational meet record-setting 400 medley relay (3:23.19)… Earned gold in the 200 freestyle, 100 butterfly, as part of the 200 medley and 400 and 800 freestyle relays, and earned silver in the 500 and 100 freestyle at the same meet… Undefeated in dual meets in the 200 freestyle and won the 100 freestyle at six meets during the season… Also won the 100 butterfly and 500 freestyle at two meets, the 200 fly at one meet, and was part of the winning 400 freestyle relay at eight different meets, and 200 medley relay at two meets… Held UMBC’s fastest times in the 100 free (45.98), 200 free (1:39.42), 100 butterfly (49.51), and swam a personal best 1:55.68 in the 200 butterfly… 100 free and 100 fly times were personal bests and rank seventh and third on the all-time top ten list.

 

2005-06: Won gold in the 500-free and silver in the 100- and 200-free at the America East Championships, setting a new meet record in the 500 (4:28.79)… Also grabbed gold with the 800-free relay and silver with the 200- and 400-free relays… Placed 12th in the 100-fly and 15th in the 100-free at ECAC’s… Swam UMBC’s fastest times of the season in the 100-free (45.89), the 200-free (1:39.26) and the 500-free (4:28.79)… Won the 200-free at six dual meets and the 500-free three times… Also won the 50-free against New Hampshire, the 100-free against East Carolina and the 1,000-free against Howard… Placed second in the 100- and 200-free and swam on the winning 400-free relay against Rider in the first meet of his collegiate career… Broke New Hampshire’s pool record as part of the winning 400-medley relay… Also led off the winning 200-free relay against Howard, anchored three winning 400-free relays and the winning 800-free relay at the George Mason Invitational… Named America East Swimmer of the Week after the Towson meet… Competed at the Canadian Pan-Pacific Trials over the summer and placed sixth in the 400-meter freestyle, 15th in the 200-meter free, 21st in the 100-meter fly and 22nd in the 100-meter free.

 

Background: Competed at the 2004 Canadian Olympic Trials, the Junior Pan-Pacific Games and the Canadian Summer Games… His team finished fourth in the 4x100-free relay at the Junior Pan-Pacifics, just missing the bronze medal…  Also lettered in soccer and hockey

 

Personal: Plays the guitar, piano and trombone… Son of Mary Jo and Dwight Bronson… Is the third of six children… Has four brothers, Mike, Alex, Kevin and Brandon, and a sister, Joelle… Born March 14, 1986... Major is biology and pyschology.
