2007-08: Won the 1650-yard freestyle, finished second in the 500 free and 400 individual medley, third in the 200 butterfly and was part of the winning 800 free relay at the Patriot Invitational… Won the 500 free and 1000 free against Rider and was part of the winning 400 free relay against Bucknell… Swam a career-best 1:43.63 in the 200 free at the Patriot Invite and season-best times in the 500 free (4:34.15), 1650 free (15:57.80), 200 fly (1:54.87), and 400 IM (4:07.30) at the same meet… Held UMBC’s fastest times in the 1000 and 1650 freestyles.

2006-07: Was part of the school, America East Championship, and Boston University pool record-setting 800 freestyle relay which swam a time of 6:44.18… Earned two silver medals at the America East Championships, in the 400 individual medley and 1650 free… Also took bronze in the 500 free at the same meet… Won the Patriot Invitational in the 1650 free and 200 butterfly and finished second in the 400 IM and third in the 500 free… Was also part of the winning 800 free relay at the Patriot Invite… Won the 200 fly at six dual meets, the 500 free, and the 1000 free and 400 IM at one during the season… Swam UMBC’s fastest 1000 free, 400 IM, and 200 fly, second-fastest 1650 free, and third fastest 500 free times of the season… Also recorded career bests in the 200 fly (1:52.46) and 400 IM (4:03.40) which rank fifth and ninth on the all-time top ten list.

2005-06: Won silver in the mile and the 400-IM and bronze in the 500-free at the America East Championships… Also grabbed gold with the 800-free relay at AEC’s… Took 17th in the 200-free, 22nd in the 200-fly and 23rd in the 200-IM at ECAC’s… Finished second in the 500-free and fifth in the 400-IM and swam on the winning 400-free relay against Rider in the first meet of his collegiate career… First collegiate wins came at New Hampshire in the 200-free and 200-fly…also won the 100-free and 400-IM against Howard… Swam UMBC’s fastest times in the 1,000-free (9:24.12) and the 400-IM (4:06.27) and the second-fastest in the mile (15:39.19)… Led off UMBC’s winning 800-free relay at the George Mason Invitational, and also swam on the winning 400-free relay against Bucknell… Swam season bests in the 200-free (1:43.93) and 200-fly (1:54.19) at the George Mason Invitational and in the 500-free (4:32.14) at AEC’s.

Background: A four-time PIAA All-State selection… An All-American qualifier in the 200- and 500-free in 2005… Finished third in the 200- and 500-free at the 2005 PIAA State Championships… Helped lead his team to the PIAA state championship… Was a member of the Spanish Club in high school.
