2005-06: Placed sixth in the 500- and 1,000-free against Rider in the first meet of her collegiate career…highest individual finish of the season was fourth in the 1,000-free at Binghamton…swam on the second-place 400-free relay at Seton Hall…selected to the America East Commissioner’s Honor Roll…swam a season-best time in the 200-free (2:03.44) at the George Mason Invitational, in the 500-free (5:28.64) at the America East Championships and in the 1,000-free (11:25.60) against Navy.

Background: Selected to the Frederick News Post All-Area First Team in 12th grade, Second Team in ninth and 11th grades and honorable mention in 10th grade…helped lead Middletown to the county championship…also lettered in cross country and track in high school…a member of the National Honor Society and SGA…was her class valedictorian, class secretary and a Maryland Distinguished Scholar finalist…received the Meritorious Service Award at Middletown…last name rhymes with RACHEL…daughter of Jeff and Susan Aichele…has a younger sister, Allison, and an older sister, Lauren…born Aug. 15, 1987…majoring in political science and economics…hopes to become a lawyer.
