A strong force in the back and mid free events for the Retrievers.
2002- First place finisher in the 500 free at the ECAC’s and won silver in the mile.
2001- Member of the UMBC 800 free relay team that captured gold at both the 2001 ECAC’s... Captured silver medal in both the 200 back and 500 free at the NEC Invitational.
2000- Member of the UMBC 800 free relay team that captured gold at the Nittany Lion Invitational
Personal- Broke the Peruvian record in the 200-meter back with a time of 2:06.58...Ranked first in the 200 back in Peru from 1999-2000... Won silver in the same event in 2001... Also the Peruvian champ over the past two years in the 400 free and 200 free as well as the 2001 and 2002 champ in the 1500 free... Son of Carlos and Cecilia Canepa... Born on August 1, 1982...Majoring in Information Systems.
