PICKERAL TAKES HOME NEC PLAYER OF THE WEEK AWARD

Sophomore Kristie Pickeral claims her first NEC Player of the Week award to become the third Retriever to take home the honor this season. She batted .667 (10-for-15) with six RBI's, five runs scored, one double, two home runs, and two walks in four UMBC wins last week.
Pickeral went 3-for-4 with an RBI in the opening game against Mt. St. Mary's, then had one hit and two intentional walks in the nightcap. Versus Robert Morris, she was 3-for-4 with two homers, four RBI's and two runs scored to start the day, before going 3-for-5 with three runs scored, one RBI, and one double in the second game.
On the year, Pickeral leads UMBC in batting average (.409), hits (67), RBI's (48), walks (20), and is batting .544 in NEC action.
