NICHOLSON RECEIVES SECOND NEC PITCHER OF THE WEEK AWARD

Freshman Lauren Nicholson takes home her second NEC Pitcher of the Week accolade after going 3-0 with a 0.44 ERA last week. She posted wins over Howard (3.0 IP, 3 H, 0 ER, 2 K, 1 BB), Sacred Heart (6.0 IP, 6 H, 1 ER, 3 K, 0 BB) and Fairleigh Dickinson (7.0 IP, 4 H, 0 ER, 3 K, 2 BB) to help the Retrievers to a 6-0 week. Nicholson allowed just 13 hits, three walks and one earned run over 16.0 innings, while also throwing a complete-game shutout versus FDU. The Andover, NJ native improved to 11-7 on the year with a 2.02 ERA and leads UMBC in innings pitched (118.0) and strikeouts (46).
