HEBB, NICHOLSON RECEIVE NEC SOFTBALL WEEKLY HONORS
Lauren Hebb takes home her first NEC Player of the week honor after starting the season hitting .377 (23-61) with 16 runs scored, 15 RBI's, five home runs, five doubles, and three stolen bases. She has also posted a .705 slugging percentage and .449 on-base percentage through 19 games thus far. Hebb hit .333 last week with eight hits, five runs, five RBI's, two doubles, two homers and one stolen base. Her best showing was a 3-for-4 performance with five RBI's two runs scored, and two home runs (one grand slam) in a 8-7 win over Delaware. She currently leads the Retrievers in slugging percentage, on base percentage, runs scored, runs batted in, home runs, total bases, and stolen bases.
Lauren Nicholson is named NEC Pitcher of the Week after going 2-1 last week with wins over James Madison and St. Francis (PA) to improve her season record to 4-4. The rookie hurler tossed her first career shutout with a three-hitter in the 2-0 win over the Red Flash. In ten appearances (52.1) innings, she has started eight games, completed seven, and has a 2.54 ERA. So far this season, Nicholson has allowed 59 hits and 19 earned runs, while striking out 16 batters.
