TOWSON EDGES UMBC SOFTBALL, 1-0

    Baltimore, MD – UMBC (7-7) dropped their second straight as they fell to Towson (5-3) by a score of 1-0 this afternoon at the UMBC Softball Stadium. Tiger sophomore Jenny Edwards plated in teammate Jeanne Bosch with an RBI-single in the seventh inning to give Towson their fifth win of the season.

    For the game, the Retrievers were led by senior Lisa Boone, who had two of UMBC’s six hits. Junior pitcher Kristin Dulay gave up only five hits, while walking two and striking out six in the losing effort. Towson’s Beth Wilcox gave up six hits, while walking one and striking out two to earn the shutout win.

    UMBC returns to action tomorrow when they travel to James Madison University for the JMU Tournament. The Retrievers will meet NEC-rival St. Francis (PA) in the conference opener at 9:00 a.m. on Friday, March 14.
