Seniors Shine in Softball’s 6-1 Win over Siena

The Retrievers scored three runs in the first inning, with two runs coming on a two-out single by senior designated player Lauren O’Malley (
Weigman cruised through the first three innings, allowing just one walk.
The Retrievers, meanwhile, added two runs in the bottom of the fourth on a Brummell double, a walk by senior center fielder Lynn Pronobis (Waldorf, Md./McDonough), a wild pitch and an RBI single by senior third baseman Julia Culotta (Street, Md./North Harford/Tennessee).
Weigman (3-3) earned the complete game victory after allowing just two hits and two walks and striking out six. Amanda Filipazzo (1-2) took the loss after giving up six runs on eight hits in four innings of work.
The Retrievers return to action on Sunday, when they face Princeton at 1:30 p.m. and
