Three Retrievers Named to UMBC Spring Classic All-Tournament Team

Shepherd led the Retrievers offensively on the weekend, batting .500 (9-for-18) with a double, a triple, a home run, four RBI and four runs scored. She also slugged a team-best .833 with 15 total bases. In the first game against St. Francis (
Fefel batted .312 (5-for-16) with three RBI and a run scored, and she reached base at a .389 clip, as she has been on base at least once in each game this season, a streak of 22 straight contests. Fefel also struck out seven batters in 7.2 innings of work in the circle.
Weigman went 2-2 with a 3.05 ERA and 22 strikeouts in 20.2 innings of work, holding opponents to a .220 batting average. She struck out seven batters in two separate games on the weekend, and she pitched a complete game against Mount St. Mary’s in the semifinals.
