UMBC Softball Announces Fall Schedule, Alumni Game

BALTIMORE—UMBC head softball coach Joe French recently announced the Fall 2007 schedule, which includes two tournaments, five scrimmages and an alumni game.

The Retrievers already kicked off the fall season with scrimmages at CCBC-Catonsville and Morgan State the first two weekends in September.

Next, the Retrievers head to Washington, D.C., on Sept. 22 for the George Washington Tournament, where they will take on the host Colonials as well as nearby Georgetown. UMBC will face Howard in a scrimmage on Sept. 28, and the next day the Retrievers will take part in the University of Maryland Tournament, which includes competition against Delaware State, Georgetown, George Washington and the host Terrapins.

On Oct. 7, CCBC-Catonsville comes to UMBC for a rematch of the first scrimmage, and the Retrievers travel to Fairfax, Va., for a scrimmage at George Mason on Oct. 12.

The fall season concludes with an alumni game on Oct. 20 at 2:30 p.m. at UMBC Softball Stadium as part of Homecoming weekend.
