Baltimore-UMBC head softball coach Joe French will host three winter and spring softball clinics in February and March. The Winter Indoor Softball Clinics will take place Saturday, Feb. 3 and Saturday, Feb. 10 at the RAC Arena, while the Elite Spring Softball Clinic will be Saturday March 3 at the UMBC Softball Stadium.

The indoor clinics will run from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. for girls ages 8 to 18 and will cover pitching, hitting and defense. The Elite Spring Outdoor Clinic will run from 11 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. for experienced players ages 13 to 18 and will cover pitching, hitting and defense and will also include intrasquad scrimmages. Only 65 slots are available for each indoor clinic and 40 for the outdoor clinic.

The cost of each clinic is $55 if paid at least seven days in advance and $60 after that date or at the door. The fee for two clinics is $100, or $135 for all three. Walk-in registration for the indoor clinics begins at 8:15 a.m. The rain date for the elite outdoor clinic is set for Sunday, March 4.

Eight current Retrievers have attended a UMBC softball clinic in past years.
