UMBC SHUTS OUT TOWSON IN HOME OPENER, 2-0
3/6/2002
Baltimore, MD - Sophomore Kristin Dulay struck out three in a complete game effort to lead the Retrievers against Towson (3-4) at UMBC's home opener, 2-0. UMBC, now 6-9 overall, scored both runs in the second inning after Lisa Gallignani singled with two outs. Consecutive singles by Deanna Vecchio and Jessica Graziano allowed Kahn to score before the Tigers were able to put UMBC away for the inning.Dulay improved her season record to 2-4 after giving up only four hits in today's shutout. The Retrievers return home on March 27 when they host Brown University at 2 p.m.
