UMBC TO HOST ELITE FALL SOFTBALL CLINIC

    Baltimore, Md.-UMBC head softball coach Joe French will host the Elite Fall Softball Clinic on Saturday, Sept. 9, from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. at the UMBC Softball Stadium. Cost is $45 if registered by Sept. 2 or $50 after that date or at the door.

     

    The clinic is offered for girls entering the eighth grade and above, but younger girls who wish to attend can contact the UMBC softball office at 410-455-1325.

     

    “We are looking to attract the advanced players for their age brackets,” French said.

     

    The morning session will consist of pitching, hitting, infield and outfield stations, while the afternoon session will feature scrimmage games.

     

    Participants are encouraged to bring a lunch and snacks with a cold drink. Ice and water will be provided.

     

    Clinics will be conducted by UMBC staff and current players, including French, who won his 400th career game in May, and Melanie Denischuk, a top 25 finalist for USA Softball Player of the Year who hit .432 with 24 home runs.
